Scammers follow few steps to scam any individual. I can explain you their process and solution provided – what can you do about being scammed and blackmailed online below, please read full article below. How and why I am explaining ?

I am well aware of most of the scams and I have saved one my best friends from Whatsapp video call scam, however he came to me after losing 30K but eventually it stopped there. They asked more 50K from him when he got pissed and somehow reached me for help.

They work in phases and I am taking example of “Whatsapp video call scam” to explain a scam :

You Will understand why I am giving name like this at end when I explain the conclusion:

⚠️ Breadcrumbs : You will get a friend request in Facebook by a female(if you are male) As soon as friend request is accepted by you, they will try to add as many as of your friend list friends to their friend list.

⚠️ Weapon gathering: They will take friend list screen shot, they make contact with your friends and have them in their chat list as well. By a small research on facebook they may gather your family information as well. They will also start talking to you over chat and eventually asked for whatsapp number.

⚠️ D-Day: One Day suddenly you will get a whatsapp messages and they will somehow manage to understand when you will be alone. They will give you a Whatsapp video call.

You will see suddenly a female is undressing herself.(dont worry thats not a real woman, there may be a screen where adult video is being played). Till the time you will realise what is happening, they will record the session.

⚠️ Execution: Now is the time to execute the scam operation. They will sent that recorded clip to your whatsapp. They will call you on you phone and demand money. If you deny:

They will blackmail that they have your friend list and family member detail(Remember in Breadcrumbs phase I explained they collect all sort of information) and if you dont send them money they broadcast this clip.

⚠️Your situation/suffering ? You are in panic and in order to protect your dignity you may send money. BUT BUT!! BUT!! Be aware even if you send them money they wont stop. They will realize that you are ready to pour money for your dignity and they will start increase their demand. And they will keep doing it as much as possible. They may even make you bankrupt.

SOLUTION

What should do If I am being scammed online?

I would suggest you to do below if you are being scammed by by anyone online:

• Resist: DO NOT PAY any money, tell scammer do whatever they want.

• Kill fear of dignity loss: Explain your friends and family member that you are being scammed and explain the entire story. Everyone will understand that you are trapped or scam.

• Prevention: Unfriend unknown users from facebook and hide your friend list from others. restrict it to yourself only. Block all phone number and whatsapp number of scammer/blackmailer.

• Protection : Collect all facebook user detail and if possible take screenshot and print the detail from facebook. Collect all whatsapp chat and print it. make note all phone numbers from which you are getting calls and whatsapp messages.( They may keep reaching you from different different number. ). Go to police station with all collected information and book an FIR/complain Diary about this incident. You can reach to Cyber Cell as well.

• Courage: DO not fall in any blackmailing. They will keep poking you day by day . Even they may call after months out of the blue. But you have to cut the call and keep blocking them.
